Jacqueline
Blaylock is president of Angel Face Entertainment,
a full-service multi-level media company, which specializes
in identifying and locating quality commercial films
available for acquisition and distribution.
A
seasoned development executive with expertise in bringing
both film and television projects to the screen, she
has served as the Director of Programming for the
Hollywood Black Film Festival for the past eight years,
where she has guided the vision of the organization
and has assisted accomplished and aspiring filmmakers
in showcasing their projects and bringing images produced
by people of color to the general market and Hollywood.
Blaylock
has served as film curator/associate producer on four
one-hour television specials "African American
Filmmakers" for Badami Productions and as production
coordinator for the NBC television special "Roots:
Celebrating 25 Years," a Leonard Production.
Other
career highlights include Blaylock's tenure as Director
of Creative Affairs for filmmaker Roy Campanella II,
and Creative Executive for Yagya Productions, run
by Bill Duke, the multi-talented filmmaker responsible
for such films as Hoodlum and Deep Cover with Laurence
Fishburne and Sister Act II with Whoopi Goldberg.
Prior
to joining Yagya, Ms. Blaylock spent more than ten
years at The Walt Disney Company in television development
and programming.
Blaylock
began her career in entertainment with the prestigious
Directors Guild of America as an Executive Assistant
to the Guild's Executive Secretary. There, she was
instrumental in investigating new membership applications
and DGA member grievances and terminations.
A
native of Chicago, Illinois, Blaylock earned her Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration and Management
from California State University, Los Angeles. Blaylock
currently serves on the Board of the Hollywood Black
Film Festival and is a member of the National Association
of Female Executives.
